My son is a Marine who was wounded in Iraq. I had the honor of tattoo a rifle scope site and the date he was wounded over the bullet hole scar. Talk about a moving experience.....

I am 55 years old, married with kids. I have a 9 to 5 to pay the bills. I have been drawing all my life but got my first tattoo 10 years ago. Recently A friend of mine encouraged me to try tattooing and once the idea was presented I must say I have become obsessed. I have to tattoo. I think about it all the time. I see all things in tones, textures and forms since I started this quest. Its the best. The art form possesses me. I cannot afford to quit my job and start an aprenticeship, and as I have found out getting professional advice is difficult. I do have a mentor who has been the greatest. My first tat was my wife and a good friend has lent his body to my education. I may not belong here but even just studying these images helps me on my way. As I learn and grow in this art form my admiration and awe grows for some of the artists' works I see. My goal is to tattoo full time some day, but more importantly, to always do the best art possible. Thanks for looking.
